Stamkos pushed Tampa Bay's lead to 3-0 when he redirected a shot to move ahead of injured Pittsburgh star Sidney Crosby for sole possession of the league points lead with 67.

Capitals End 3-Game Skid With 3 Goals In 3rd Period
John Carlson and Brooks Laich scored in a 45-second span in the third period to help the Capitals rally for a 3-1 victory over the Senators on Sunday.
The victory ended Washington's three-game losing streak and moved the Capitals into a tie with Tampa Bay for first place in the Southeast Division.
Predators Notch Sixth Straight Win
Nashville defeated Minnesota 5-1 on Tuesday night for their sixth straight victory.
Nick Spaling helped the Predators finish off the win by doubling his goals for the season with two quick scores in the third period.
"It was nice for him tonight to bury a couple and maybe get some confidence. We've got some big road games coming up here, and we'll build off those," center Jerred Smithson said.
U.S. Wins Bronze Over Sweden
Jack Campbell made 34 saves and Chris Kreider had two goals to help the United States win the bronze medal with a 4-2 win over Sweden at the World Junior Championships on Wednesday.
"For me, personally, I wanted that gold medal," said Campbell. "That's what I had my heart set on. My goal is to keep getting better, and we'll see where that takes me for next season. If I'm fortunate enough to come back, I'd like to hopefully lead Team USA to a gold medal."
The Stars drafted Campbell with the 11th pick in 2010.
Campbell, who turns 19 on Sunday, was in goal when the Americans defeated Canada in overtime in the gold-medal game last year, and is eligible to play in this Under-20 tournament next year in Alberta, Canada.
Zuccarello's First Goal Pushes Rangers Past Canes
Mats Zuccarello scored his first NHL goal 3:09 into overtime, and the Rangers won 2-1 over the Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
New York, which missed the playoffs last season, moved seven points ahead of ninth-place Carolina in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
"We are halfway through now, and you can see the standings," said Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. "It's getting tighter and tighter. Coming off two losses, it was important to come back with a win."
Russia Stuns Canada To Win Juniors Gold
Vladimir Tarasenko had a goal and assist and Russia scored five goals in the third period to overcome a 3-0 deficit and stun Canada 5-3 in the gold-medal game in the World Junior Hockey Championships on Wednesday night.
It was the third straight game the Russians rallied in the third period, and the improbable win secured their 13th title and first since 2003.
"It was the Russian heart and the Russian character," added Yevgeni Kuznetsov, who had three assists. "This is the best team in the world right now."
Flames Win Fourth Straight Behind Giordano
The Flames won their fourth straight on Saturday night as they look to turn around their season.
Calgary defeated Edmonton 2-1 behind Mark Giordano's second-period goal.
"We put ourselves in a big hole, but we are climbing up now," Flames forward Olli Jokinen said. "We are finally at .500. It has been a couple months since we could say that."
